Les Tâches d'Été
QUOI?! Devoir? Pour l’été? Mais Madameeeee…..
#Désolépasdésolé
To better prepare ourselves for next year’s class, we need to continue to use our French skills over the summer. The BEST way to prepare yourself is to constantly surround yourself with French…speak it, read it, listen to it, think it, dream it…LIVE IT! Below are the summer assignments that must be completed by the first day of school next year.
Note: Attempting to complete these assignments the night before completely defeats their purpose! However, don’t let the fact that you didn’t complete them be a reason for dropping the class….step up! You’re the leaders of the program now, act like it!
You will complete 5 things over the summer.

Bonne Idée – Trust Mme when she says that senior year will be a crazy, busy one for most of you. Might I suggest completing as many International Language Academy Distinction projects DURING THE SUMMER rather than during the school year? It would be a shame not to be recognized for your awesomeness due to procrastination in March. Oui…je sais…je suis super intelligente.
- Every two weeks you must complete a journal entry that is at minimum length one paragraph (single spaced, 12 pt font). This will be submitted through Google Classroom. Every two weeks you will write a response to a prompt that connects to an AP theme. Try to vary your tenses. It is expected that you use a dictionary and look up new words to broaden your vocabulary base.
- The Classroom code is m1bxgia
- I will not grade this journal – only check that you have made a strong effort. I will provide feedback throughout the summer.
- In total there will be 5 entries.
- They must be completed by the weekly deadline
- June 22, Jul 6, Jul 20, Aug 3, Aug 17

Listening Skill Growth and Practice
- Go to the “AP French” section of Mme’s website and find at least 14 authentic listening sources. Keep track of what you listen to and complete the attached chart. This is the number one thing that AP French students said they needed more practice on!
- You may not use anything that is dubbed in French.
- Please attempt to vary your listening sources. It is best to find them at varying speeds, dialects, and subjects if you can.
- Once again, doing this the night before doesn’t help you at all. Please stay on top of things!
- Peut etre complete one or two of these when you have to post on Google classroom
Créez les Liens”
- You will create an introductory video of yourself so we can get to know our class better and form strong connections with each other.
- You must address the following topics in French:
- Your name
- Three things that you like and three things that you don’t like and why
- Something you’re excited for in AP
- One super cool awesome thing you did over the summer.
- It should not be longer than two minutes.
- Please upload it to Seesaw
- Please sign up for Seesaw with your school email.
- The code is RXEM ENIJ
- This will expire on June 8th so sign up NOW
- Please sign up for Seesaw with your school email.
- Go to the College Board website and read through the outline and expectations of the AP French Exam
- Write a reflection paper (1 page in length, double spaced, 12 pt font) on your language strengths and weaknesses and what your plan is to improve.
- This should be in English.
- This will be posted to Google Classroom
Visualization
- On a piece of white computer paper, design a photo of yourself a year from now in color having…
- triumphantly conquered the AP French exam/class
- bravely achieved the highly sought after title of a global citizen/leader
- realized that you’re ready to take on/travel/explore the world and be even more awesome than you are right now
